Am willing to look at creative options to get her the best trumpet at a price our family can afford. She is well beyond the beginner trumpet she has now. She is starting to get into Jazz and plays for her High School Marching band.
Shopping for trumpet for motivated High School musician. Can you recommend brands, models, places to buy?
i used a bach stradivarius which served me well through my high school career. it will last her for those years and possibly into college if she takes care of it. also, might want to consider a different mouthpiece for her different pursuits (jazz, classical, marching band, etc) as they produce different sounds from the horn. to the original question, however, I used a stradivarius and was very pleased. although it can be a bit on the expensive side, i feel it is well worth it.
Reply:Go online and find your local professional symphony. Look under musicians. Lots of times you will be able to e-mail the musicians. Look for a trumpet player and asak them the question you just asked here.
