Should i play the trumpet??

I am going into high school and cant decide whether i want to stick with the trumpet or not. i dont really mind the insturment itself i just dont want to be the only girl, and be some wierdo. high school brings around enogh social problems as it is-i dont want to have more added on top of the normal amount. i am really scared of what other people think(which i no i shouldnt but im am 14 and thats wat i do)





I am really considering quiting but i no that i will regret it. i just cant decide-and really need people outside of my family opions. please help me im desperate :(

Should i play the trumpet??
I would say stick with trumpet. In our marching band we only have one girl player and she is awesome! Usually the guys are really cocky (it's just the way trumpet players that are guys are) and the section needs a girl to keep track of them. I play mellophone (if you know what that is...) and I love it! Brass players rock! Stick with the trumpet.
Reply:Do what you are comfortable with. Whatever you do, pursue music. Music is a passion that will/can remain with you for the rest of your life.





Just to let you know, I got tired of the sax, so I taught myself all the other instruments in the orchestra...that's how obsessed I am.

Reply:i agree with everyone else. if playing the trumpet is what you enjoy doing then do it. playing an instrument is talent, i mean i always wanted to play a instrument throughout school but i never did, and i regret that because i would have been ahead and had a good time. now im trying to get started on playing drums and guitar. but back to the point, im 14 too, and i think that you shouldn't let people get in your way, you shouldn't be ashamed of playing an instrument, you've got skills, and it seems like your the only girl who actually stuck with it.. don't worry, and enjoy your abilities
