I know the devils trumpet puts off seed pods, but on my single angel trumpets I cant find any seeds. Does anyone know how the angel trumpets seed out?
Where are the seeds located on an angel trumpet plant?
There are 2 kinds of plants commonly called angel's trumpets. One is datura, and the seed pod on it is a very spiky ball. The other angel's trumpet is brugmansia, and it has a seed pod that looks kind of like a fat pea pod or a skinny chile pepper.
In each case, the seeds are inside the pods. The seed pods develop at the base of the flower, so don't remove the flowers as they fade if you want to collect seeds. You need to let the pods ripen on the plant for the seeds inside to mature. The pods will slowly turn brown, and when they are dry, you can pick them to collect the seeds.
Both kinds of angel's trumpets have seed pods that you will easily see, so if you haven't seen any, the flowers may not have been pollinated.
Reply:I thought they were just where the deadheads are. Be Careful they ARE DEADLY and POISONOUS
