Good Trumpet Music CDs?

Hoping someone can help me. I want to get 6-8 cd's of famous trumpet players. I want to send this to my husband who is currently deployed in Iraq right now so he has something soothing and relaxing (as much as he can while there) to listen to.

I would like to know name of person and cd to buy him. Thanks so much. And if possible only trumpet music. He loves himself some good trumpet music.

Thanks in advance in helping me.

Reply:For good relaxing trumpet music, I'd recommend Chris Botti's "When I Fall In Love" and some of the music of Chet Baker (he was a prolific recording artist so look for ones where he primarily plays trumpet unless you don't mind him singing as well).

Among the jazz trumpet classics, I'd recommend finding the "Compact Jazz" series (a sort of "greatest hits") featuring the following artists: Clifford Brown, Dizzy Gillespie, and Bix Beiderbecke.

Other "classic" albums would be those of Miles Davis (Kind of Blue, Sketches of Spain, Milestones) and Louis Armstrong (The Hot 5 and Hot 7 recordings).
Reply:Italia by Chris Botti. It's more of the relaxing/romatic type of music.Listening to his music almost made me feel like I was in Italy.
Reply:Louie Armstrong, Dizzie Gillespie, can't really think of anything else.
Reply:I can name a TON of great trumpet players, but I don't know the titles of their cd's. Hopefully this will help!
