I am in the process of a new trumpet and I want a silver one. My price range is anywhere up to $1,000, but even that is pushing it. Im looking anywhere around $500.
I looked on this website: http://www.bryansmusic.com/trumpets.htm/...
and like the model: 475BTH (silver).
Does anyone know the quality of trumpets from this website? are they new trumpets? Is it a good model? Does anyone have a better place to buy a trumpet? Thanks!
Buying a trumpet?
I looked for any information on then brand Lauren, couldn't find anything. Giardinelli is a store so, at a guess, they're stamping their name on cheap mass-produced horns from third-world countries. I recently posted this information for another user, but I think it might help you as well:

Being a music teacher, I can tell you it's often very hard to quantify what is the best beginner horn for students. Quality is a major issue-student horns (due to cheaper materials, fewer features, and less attention to details) are harder to make a good sound on than higher quality horns. However, with better horns comes a very step increase in price. Especially when starting out, it's hard for parents to make such a large financial commitment without knowing if the student will continue in a year or two. Durability is also a consideration. Some cheep instruments (such as Wal-Mart's infamous First Act brand and many cheep Asian brands for sale on eBay) are made of such flimsy material that droppings the horn once (which will happen) all but destroys it. Additionally, must regional music repair companies refuse to fix these horns and warranties do not cover this type of damage. For simplicity sake, I am going to limit this to the top brands. These are brands you should be able to find at a local music store or order easily on the internet at a warehouse store such as Woodwind and Brasswind (www.wwbw.com).
Many students start out on a Blessing horn. Parents like it because it’s cheep. Music stores like it because they profit margin is big. Repair people like it because it’s flimsy and is in the shop all the time, which is also why music teachers and students hate it. At only $400, it seems like a steal, but unless you have a super responsible kid, the horn is going to spend more time in the shop then his hands. The metal is poor quality and easily subjected to dings that will interfere with playing, the slides bind easily, and the bell crumples easily. Better to pay $900 for a good horn, then $400 for a cheep one and $500 on repairs.
I personally have my students play on Yamaha. Having both been a member of groups and teaching groups endorsed by Yamaha I can tell you these people are passionate about what they do. Yamaha’s student model starts at just under a grand, but is well worth it. The YTR2335 has a lot of professional features and is made high enough quality that with only a little work students can produce good tones. The horn re-sales at about ½ its original cost on eBay.
Conn-Selmer makes many trumpets under the brand names Prelude, Conn, and Bach. Preludes price in around $300 but, unlike the Blessing, are of decent quality. It still retains many of the flaws of the Blessing, but is at least a step up. If you’re looking super-cheap, this is where I would go. The Conn beginning model 23B lists for less than $700 and is a high quality beginning horn. The largest set-back is it comes with a case that is EXTREAMLY flimsy. Unless you upgrade the case right away, the trumpet will more than likely get damaged in. Other than that, this horn is a good buy. Conn-Selmer’s Bach trumpets are, at least by my trumpet playing friends, considered the best modern trumpets. Unfortunately, they do not offer a student model, rather starting their production line with an intermediate model, listing for a little under $1200 and going up to horns well over $2k. A step price, for sure, but you get what you pay for. I would recommend against this horn for a beginner, simple on the fact the resale on this horn is low. A search of eBay shows these almost a 2/3 lost in resale.
By price range, here are my suggestions:
$100-$500
Conn Prelude-best horn by leaps and bounds in the price range.
$500-1000
Conn 23B, with new case-even buying a new case, cheaper than a Yamaha, decent quality (again, I use Yamaha because of the personal relationships I have with the people there)
$1000-up
Bach Start.-Best horns made today.
Finally, I would recommend talking to your local school-music rep. These companies often offer good deals on decent horns and usually even have pay-as-you-go plans. The company we use down here allows much of the rental money to go towards a new horn when the students ready to upgrade and fixes rental instruments for free (unless the kid ran it over with his car, which happened).
Happy trumpeting!
Reply:i'll try to make this short.
the trumpets that you found on these sites are not good.
the other guy is right too, giardinelli is a store.
i have a bach 37 that plays so well but a bach 37 doesn't fall in your price range.
if you are still not convinced and want to buy those trumpets,
i just want to tell you but those trumpets are the same exact things being sold on ebay for $100.
i recommend getting a yamaha on ebay or if you want to buy a new trumpet, try this site www.wwbw.com .
on that site, look for the blessing XL trumpet which is only $529.99 in silver.
i'm guessing you are an advanced player so this trumpet will help you because of the first valve trigger. now just letting you know, but a trigger is only on proffesional instruments.
you can also try a blessing b127 scholastic which is $449in silver. you can also try getzen 390 series on that site which is only $790 in silver.
i recommend these instruments because alot of people i know use them and have no problem.
also getzen and blessing are trusted brands.
